Captive to the Book is dedicated to the unstable relationship between the creator and the work they have created. The paintings, placed within sculptural structures referencing the form of a book, depict eyes, masks, and fragmented faces. These images oscillate between manifestation and disappearance. Here, the book serves simultaneously as a container and a force capable of suppressing or distorting the figure of the author. The exhibition addresses questions of identity, the ownership of text, and the shifting boundaries of the literary self-portrait.
